The project:
We are looking for a Lead Software Engineer, who will be responsible for managing a team of 5 Software Developers that develops a novel cloud applications for the public transportation industries. Lead Software Engineer will be empowered to make technical and architectural decisions, and to influence the roadmap for products and working together with the leadership of the company.
The project helps national and international transport operators bring their technology and digital passenger services up to 21st century standard. Based on the core platform customers are able to easily deploy, update and manage their digital assets and passenger services on their vehicles.
Your main tasks:
- Lead and manage a team of 5 software engineers and contractors, providing guidance, mentorship, and support.
- Own the software development lifecycle. Make technical and architectural decisions and distribute tasks.
- Collaborate with Project Delivery stakeholders to translate project requirements into technical solutions.
- Work closely with the company leadership to ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
- Engage in approximately 50% hands-on technical work, leveraging your expertise to contribute directly to platform development.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, providing insights to drive technological advancements.
Requirements
- Previous experience leading development teams that developed and operated cloud-based applications.
- At least 6 years of practical experience as a software engineer and/or software architect.
- Experience in one or more of the following areas: modern software development processes, architectures, cloud, DevOps, ideally in a management position.
- Familiar with common state-of-the-art software architectures and tools, such as microservices, RESTful APIs, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, CI/CD, Bitbucket, Jira/Confluence etc.
- Comfortable in a rapidly changing, fast-paced environment and can react flexibly and proactively to changes.
- Clear and convincing communication in English (spoken and written).
- Technical university degree with a focus on computer science/business informatics.
