While our organization consists of self-organizing teams dedicated to our internal products, the delivery process cannot be solely self-directed. This responsibility falls upon the Value Delivery Team, a group well-versed in scaling Lean and Agile practices. They possess a comprehensive understanding of the distinctive opportunities and challenges associated with aligning and facilitating the entire portfolio.
The Portfolio Manager serves as a servant leader and coach. Their role involves facilitating planning and other delivery-related events and processes, and they provide support to our agile teams to ensure the delivery of value.
This individual must take a holistic view of the overall portfolio of initiatives and work at the portfolio level, working closely with Product Managers, Engineering Managers and agile teams, being a facilitator and liaison between agile teams and top management.
